About Sunny Canadian International School

Sunny Canadian International School is a fully bilingual nursery, primary, and secondary school located in Jesenice u Prahy. The school is attended by approximately 660 students. Throughout its more than twenty-year history, it has focused on bridging the Czech and international education systems, academic excellence, talent development, support for students' individual abilities, and a high standard of language education. The school has long been defined by its motto: Great Spirit and Bilingual Academic Excellence.

The International Dimension of Education

Sunny Canadian International School has long worked to connect the Czech and international education systems, and the opening of the Maple Building marks a further step in this vision. The new hub provides students with an environment that fosters language proficiency, academic independence, scientific thinking, and the ability to thrive in an international setting. By combining modern technology, hands-on experimental learning, and internationally recognized programs — including AP — Maple aims to be a place where students prepare not only for exams, but above all for a future in which they can think independently, create, collaborate, and find solutions to real-world problems.

Sunny Canadian International School proudly opened its third building, the Maple Building, on September 1, 2026–a new hub for science, technology, and modern STEAM education.

Maple is a breathtaking, original, and deeply inspiring space. Its mission is to connect students and teachers, scientists and technology companies, the public and private sectors, the wider community across all generations, and the academic world.

It is meant to be a place of meeting, discovery, collaboration, and new ideas — a place where science isn't just taught, but truly lived.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the Canadian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Emily McLaughlin; the Governor of the Central Bohemian Region, Petra Pecková; the Mayor of Jesenice, Pavel Smutný; British scientist Michael Londesborough; and Czech High School Student of the Year 2026, Jan Herzig, for their inspiring opening remarks and for sharing this extraordinary moment with us, our students, and our teachers.

Maple is open. And we can't wait to see everything it has in store for us.
