Why Pick SCIS High School

6 Reasons Why High Schools Are Not All the Same

Bilingual Education at the Highest Level

Four years of intensive bilingual education in Czech and English at an excellent academic level. Our students regularly reach the highest language level, C2 – native-speaker proficiency – confirmed by the prestigious Cambridge C2 Proficiency and AP English Literature and Composition exams.

Two Diplomas. Twice the Opportunities.

The full Czech Maturita and the prestigious international AP Diploma within a single course of study. It’s a combination that prepares students for universities in the Czech Republic and worldwide. Both qualifications are included in the tuition fees.

AP Subjects Across Year Groups. The Choice Is Yours.

Elective AP subjects aren’t tied to a year group, but to each student’s individual interests and academic goals. Thanks to a combination of in-person and online teaching, everyone can build their own academic specialisation right within the school timetable.

A Campus That Inspires. A Maple That Amazes.

Our breathtaking campus offers an exceptional setting for study, discovery and student life. Its new centrepiece, the Maple Building, brings modern laboratories, a unique STEAM Centre and university-level technology.

World-Class Career Guidance

Four years of individual career guidance, work placements and systematically building a student portfolio. From settling in during Year 1, through professional experience, all the way to SAT preparation and demanding admissions to the most prestigious universities in the world and in the Czech Republic.

A Place Where You Belong. And Love Coming Back To.

We’re a community where students feel accepted, teachers support them and shared experiences bring us together. From traditional school rituals and community events to trips across the Czech Republic and around the world. The relationships formed here often last long after the Maturita.

How We Learn

Your Own Direction.
From Year 1.

At our high school, students shape their studies around their interests and ambitions. They choose from a range of AP subjects and Maturita seminars, learn through active and cooperative methods and work with teachers who support and guide them along their academic journey.

Elective Subjects

Your Choice.
Your Specialisation.

In every year, our timetable includes lessons set aside for each student’s own academic specialisation. In Years 1 and 2, students choose one-year AP subjects from courses taught at school and online. In Years 3 and 4, they continue with specialist seminars in psychology, economics, applied biology, mathematics, chemistry, physics or social sciences, or carry on with the AP programme.

A Leader in the AP Programme

University Level
Already at High School.

We’ve been running the AP programme since 2018 and, as co-founders of the European Association of AP Schools, we help shape its development. We teach seven AP subjects directly at school. Compared with the IB, AP allows a more flexible combination of subjects across the high school years, so students decide for themselves in which fields they want to reach university level.

Teaching That Goes Deeper

Methods That
Develop Thinking.

We combine active and cooperative methods with project-based, problem-based and inquiry-based learning. Students work with hypotheses, evaluate information, look for solutions and present their results. This builds analytical and critical thinking, independence and the skills they need for university study.

Academic Quality

Specialist Subjects
in Czech and English.

Truly bilingual education combines deep subject knowledge with strong academic language skills. We teach specialist subjects in both Czech and English, so students explore each field in depth in both languages. They master precise subject terminology, work with Czech and international sources and learn to write academic papers independently in both languages.

An International Teaching Team

Global Experience.
A Personal Approach.

Fully qualified teachers from all over the world combine deep expertise with an individual approach to every student. They keep developing professionally, draw on current educational research and create an environment built on trust, cooperation and mutual respect.
