Accessibility Statement

Sunny Canadian International School Základní škola a Gymnázium, s.r.o. is committed to making its website www.sunnycanadian.cz accessible in accordance with Czech Act No. 99/2019 Coll., on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications. This statement applies to both the Czech and English versions of the website.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with Act No. 99/2019 Coll. and the requirements of the EN 301 549 standard, that is, with WCAG 2.1 at levels A and AA. The non-compliance concerns the content described in the following section.

What the Website Meets

Headings, body text, the footer and buttons have sufficient contrast. Each page we measured has one main heading, its own title and a correctly set language. Form fields have labels and controls have names. The Contact page can be navigated with a keyboard, and the moving news bar can be hidden.

Content Accessibility

We also offer information in PDF documents. Some of these documents are scans without a text layer, and most do not have a structure for screen readers. This applies, among others, to the School Rules of the Elementary and High School, the counselling services programme, the school anti-bullying programme, the crisis plan and the annual reports for 2023/2024 and 2024/2025. On request, we will send you the content of these documents in an accessible form.

Some text and elements do not have sufficient contrast. This mainly concerns yellow subheadings on a light background, grey captions, past dates in the calendar, hint text and field borders in forms, and the menu over the photo at the top of some pages. Some elements do not show a visible focus outline when using a keyboard.

The pages have no skip-navigation link or marked main area, and most of them skip heading levels. The video on the Why SCIS? page cannot be stopped. The videos on the Junior High, High School and STEAM Centre pages have no caption track.

Under Section 1(3)(a) of the Act, the interactive map on the Contact page is outside its scope. The school’s address is also given as text on that page.

Preparation of the Accessibility Statement
