Organization of the 1st school day and COVID testing
The calendar and the weather have announced the end of summer. Staff at our school are going through an intensive preparatory week. Unsurprisingly, the program of the first school day is influenced by the compulsory COVID testing of pupils. Together with our testing center, we will, of course, continue to do our utmost to ensure that the testing takes place smoothly, quickly and in a pleasant atmosphere, with as little as disruption to the first day of school and its festive atmosphere as possible. As with every year, a number of interesting news items also await you this Fall. We are looking forward to gradually introducing them all to you. Now, however, to the important information concerning the beginning of the school year 2021/2022.
A. Time schedule 1. 9. 2021
Kindergarten
| 7:00 | Morning classes open – Czech program (class U Broučků) |
| 7:30 | Morning classes open – English program (Yellow Ducks class) |
| 8:00 | Parents, children and teachers meet in the Kindergarten garden |
| 8:10 - 8:30 | Opening ceremony 2021/22 for all pupils and parents of Kindergarten. We will introduce you to the teachers of the individual classes. The opening ceremony will take place in the nursery garden (opening ceremony will take place only if the weather is good) |
| 17:00 | The first school day of the Czech program ends (U Broučků class) |
| 17:30 | The first school day of the English program ends (collection from Purple Dinos class) |
According to the current legislation, children from Kindergarten do not have to pass COVID testing.
First Stage
| 9:30 | Pupils come to school. First Stage classes should enter through their marked aisle and will subsequently be tested by a test center in the school's sports hall. |
| 9:30 - 10:15 | COVID testing in the school sports hall – all First Stage classes |
| 10:15 | Opening ceremony 2021/22 on the school terrace (opening ceremony will take place only if the weather is good) |
| 10:30 | Leave for classes after taking photos together, the first graders will go to their classrooms with their teachers, followed by the other Stage 1 pupils. Parents can accompany first grade to the library door |
| 10:35 - 11:40 | Pupils in classrooms with their class teachers |
| 11:40 | All other first stage pupils depart for home as normal |
The standard teaching schedule for all primary school classes will commence from 2. 9. 2021.
Second Stage and High School
| 08:00 | Pupils come to school. |
| 8:00 - 8:45 | Compulsory Covid testing of Second Stage and High School students - sports hall |
| 8:45 – 9:15 | Opening ceremony on the school terrace (opening ceremony will take place only if the weather is good) |
| 9:15 - 10:45 | Class Time – school rules, schedules, school uniforms, locker rooms, etc. Grade 6 students are at the school only until lunch and then leave for Team Camp. They will keep their bags in the Practical Workshop during the day. 4G1 students leave for Team Camp from the Main Railway Station in Prague, they meet at 9:00. They will not attend the opening ceremony. A special ceremony will be held for them on Monday 6th September |
| 10:50 | Normal lesson schedule begins. During the day, individual classes will pick up textbooks in the school library. The schedule will be made available to teachers. Lunch will take place in line with the normal teaching schedule, as introduced by class teachers. |

B. Other important information for Day One organization
- The afternoon snack for Second Stage and High School will be held at normal time
- School bus services will not run on the first day of school. We run these services 2ndSeptember
- The First Stage morning and afternoon club and the student club for the primary school will also be in operation from 2. 9. 2021
- Due to the increased traffic, we ask you to arrive at school on time. Please do not use the car park next to the entrance to the Elementary School / High School. We recommend parking in the parking lot in front of and next to the Kindergarten, or in the vicinity
C. Information on mandatory COVID testing
- According to the legally binding legislation, testing will initially take place a total of three times. Namely 1.9., 6.9. and 9.9. 2021
- Pupils and students may submit a proof of completed vaccination, a confirmation that they had COVID in last 180 days or a negative result of PCR or antigen test from a medical facility
- Otherwise all students will be tested by school
- Self-tests cannot be accepted
- If the pupil's parents do not submit the above documents and refuse testing, the pupil must wear a respirator throughout his/her stay at school, cannot attend physical education classes and must keep a distance of at least 1.5 m from other people in the dining room during lunch
