COVID - 19 Initial Return to School Letter for Parents

Dear Parents,

Yesterday evening, Wednesday 18th November, the Czech government announced that it will review its Covid threat level rating for the whole country on Friday 20th November. Today the Ministry of Education followed this with a press conference about schools.

The Ministry of Education has announced a planned return to school as follows:

• 4G4 students will also return to school with existing hygiene measures on Wednesday 25th November.
• Grade 3-5 students will return to school as normal, with additional hygiene measures on Monday 30th November.
• Grade 9 students will also return to school as normal with hygiene measures as of October on Monday 30th November.
• Grade 6, 7 and 8 students will return to school on a rotating basis as set by the school, with additional hygiene measures* from Monday 30th November.
• 4G1-4G3 will remain in online learning until further notice.
• Additional hygiene measures for the whole school premises.

Can all parents please ensure that their children are able to return to school as planned.

* Grade 8 students will return in the first part of the rotation Monday 30th November, while Grade 6 and 7 will remain in online learning and return to school on Monday 7th December (while Grade 8 rotates home to online learning). We still have very little information about a projected date of return for remaining high school students.

Please find attached an infographic (Velikost: 631.77 kB) to explain key changes for our 2nd Stage and HS students. Further changes, including any extra hygiene measures may follow early next week, as soon as the full update from the government is made available. For now, we wanted you all to be informed of the planned grades and dates so that all families can be ready for a return to school.

As you will all know, the Three Way Conferences are also due to start next week on Wednesday. Please follow the link below to book your place at the conferences. This link will be live for you to register until 8 p.m. on Monday, 23rd November and on Tuesday our teachers will create the online ‘location codes’ for your meetings. These will be provided to you in the document on Tuesday evening.

We urge all parents to book appointments with their child’s teachers so that we are collectively working on the best possible improvement and personalized learning progress for your child.
