Friends of committed learning, civic associations (PAU, o.s.) in partnership with eleven schools of the Central Region, received financial support from the Ministry of Education project No. CZ.1.07/1.3.04/02.0014 Cooperation and Competitiveness (abbreviation KOKOS) to support further education of teachers in central Bohemia, primarily within 11 partner schools: ZŠ Štěchovice, ZŠ Jílové u Prahy, ZŠ a MŠ Jílové u Prahy, ZŠ Davle, ZŠ, MŠ, ZUŠ Jesenice, MŠ a ZŠ Sunny Canadian s.r.o., ZŠ Krhanice, ZŠ a MŠ Zlatníky-Hodkovice, ZŠ Kostelec u Křížků, ZŠ a MŠ Dolní Břežany a ZŠ Hradištko.
The project spans 34 months. Initial planning began in September 2009 with school activities beginning from 1 February 2010. The whole project will last until the end of June 2012.
The objectives of the project is enhancing teaching skills, practical testing of new methods of teaching, and finding appropriate forms of interactivity in the classroom considering the constant expansion and use of information and communication technologies. Naturally, schools have need to introduce upgraded materials to their educational programs and properly implement such materials into their activities. This systematic program helps to streamline the process.
Key activities:

3rd Verification of programs for innovative learning strategies for implementation of the SEP
4th Two-day off-site training for school staff
5th Open workshops for elementary teachers in Central Region
6th Training of partners, management, and support in the implementation of the SEP
7th Modernization of the text created SEP
8th Ongoing evaluation
By June 2010, all partner schools will hold targeted workshops for faculty. Meetings are implemented across specializations, ie teachers of Czech language, mathematics, foreign language teachers, teachers of geography and natural history, teachers of history and civics, physics teachers, and natural science and chemistry teachers. Similar seminars will continue in future stages of the KOKOS project.
Key project activities include KOKOS and management training partner schools aimed at professional and human development.
In spring 2010, two seminars were held across the partner schools. The first topic was current education and experience abroad by Professor Karel Rydl. The second theme was "enjoying learning together with children" with speakers Mgr. Karel Derfl and Mgr. Jaromír Sláma.
Teachers of schools participating in three sample double lessons in 3 partner schools are ZŠ a MŠ Jílové, MŠ a ZŠ Sunny Canadian, and ZŠ Krhanice.
The KOKOS project will also offer two outdoor workshops for primary school teachers around the Central Region. The first is scheduled for January 2011 to ZŠ Jílové u Prahy. A year later, there will be workshops in ZŠ, MŠ, ZUŠ Jesenice.
In early August 2010, faculty will have a two-day summer training. This will repeat a year later in August 2011.
In June 2012, the 11 partner schools should have 11 streamlined educational programs.
The KOKOS project aims to reach out and support 330 teachers of the Central Region, many of them repeatedly over the course duration, and expects 109 employees to become service providers to meet the objectives and activities arranged.
