Dear Sunny Canadian parents and community,
We have enjoyed a wonderful and busy October and I would like to quickly try to recap all of the action! The weather was still so very fine that we enjoyed many activites, sport and field trips outside and have truly embraced the unfolding of autumn's splendor and array of colourful leaves!
On October 4th we welcomed guest speakers from the Czech Society for African Wildlife, who came to educate our students on the plight of the giant Antelope Derbianus in Senegal. Why not have a look at their website http://www.derbianus.cz/ and see their pictures of Sunny Candian students enjoying the lectures?

The following Monday, on October 10th, we celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving with students taking time to reflect on what they are thankful for, and enjoying an exceptionally well prepared traditional dinner - see pictures, below!

We also enjoyed an amazing Magical Show by "Killer" Jindrich and his lovely assistant, who performed twice on October 20th - once for the Kindergarden and again for the Elementary school. We were happy to see students and even teachers get into the act!

On October 20th and 21st, Sunny Canadian School hosted a Paper Recycling initiative as the first step in establishing a sustainable economy and responsible use of the environment. The next step, as I have written to our community previously, is to buy only 100 percent recycled paper, and therefore eliminate the need to consume the forest at all! Thank-you to all of you who supported this programme!

Finally, on October 23rd, Sunny Canadian teachers helped run a children's corner at a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner organized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce at Hotel Corinthia.
After a well earned Fall Break, and private celebrations of the creation of the Czech Republic in 1918, we rounded off our eventful October with a Hallowe'en Romp (October 31st) where all families were invited to participate and dine with us here at Sunny Canadian School.
